I’m Cameron Powell, co-founder, with Gary Shuster, of DeepLaw.

I’ve been lucky enough to partner with the world’s most inventive person. I often joke that Gary overcame a background in sociology to become a peerless inventor. At last count, he had 255 patents to his name. But Gary is also an expert in patent law – a combination of talents as hard to find as a Heisman trophy winner and a Supreme Court justice inside the same body.*

What does that mean for inventors? Gary knows how to broaden any invention to maximize its patent’s scope in a way that fences out competitors, protects the technology’s future path of product development, and brings in licensable tech revenue from non-competitors. It even increases enterprise value, which also happens to be where my own background in the world of startups, investors, brand-building, and books and ideas comes in. 

I’ve founded and advised several dozen startup companies on their product market fit positioning, brand story, and fundraising and IP strategies, and I’ve co-created with Gary a system that maximizes innovation and value.
